Tickets & Seating Arrangement

Yes, graduates are required to complete the online registration to confirm their attendance of the Graduation Ceremony. Please refer to the section “Registration for Attendance” in this website for details. 

No, admission ticket would not be required for graduates to attend the Graduation Ceremony. However, graduates are reminded to put on full academic regalia that complies with the University’s requirements for being presented on stage. 

Yes, each graduate will be allowed to invite ONE guest to attend the Graduation Ceremony at the Hall. Guest e-ticket will be sent to the registered graduates by email in late November 2023. Link for live broadcast will be available (and continue be accessible after the ceremony) on this website for the guests to witness the graduation on the Ceremony day.

To maintain a solemn and formal atmosphere during the Graduation Ceremony, children under the age of 6 will NOT be allowed to enter the Hall. They can join the live broadcast of the Graduation Ceremony in another on-campus venue while being accompanied by an adult.

All guests are required to present the guest e-tickets to enter the Hall, including children aged 6 or above.

Yes, the campus will be adorned with graduation decorations while all graduates are very welcome to bring your families and friends to the campus on the graduation day or during the period from 4 to 26 December 2023 (including weekends and public holidays) to take photos and celebrate this important milestone with you.

No, graduates will be allocated a designated area reserved for the ceremony. Guests will be seated according to the assigned seat number as shown on the guest e-ticket.

Academic Regalia

No, the University will not arrange academic regalia borrowing for graduates on the Ceremony day. Graduates without an academic regalia that complies fully with the University’s requirements will not be allowed to attend the Graduation Ceremony and proceed on stage for award conferment. The Ceremony

Yes, it is not mandatory to attend the Graduation Ceremony.  

Normally, it is expected to last for about 1.5 hours per session.

The Graduation Ceremony will be conducted in English, and no simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

Graduates dressed in full academic regalia should arrive and be seated inside the Hall 30 minutes before the ceremony starts, to attend the pre-ceremony briefing.

Latecomers would be admitted for seating at a suitable time by our staff. A graduate who arrives at the Hall after his/her programme has been presented to the Presiding Officer will NOT be presented on stage separately and will NOT be allowed to go onto the stage.

As a respect to the solemn event and fellow graduates, graduates and guests are requested not to leave the Hall until the end of the ceremony.

In case of bad weather (i.e. the hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning or Extreme Conditions), the Graduation Ceremony originally scheduled on 4 & 6 December 2023 will be postponed to 5 & 7 December 2023 respectively.

Photos will be taken by official photographers when graduates are presenting on stage. To avoid interrupting the ceremony, graduates and guests are requested NOT to leave their seats to take photographs during the Ceremony. The photographs taken at the Graduation Ceremony will be available for downloading from the section “Photo Gallery” in this website approximately one month after the ceremony.

Collection of Certificates

Graduation certificates are now available for collection at the Registry Office. You may also collect the graduation certificate at The Auditorium on the day of Graduation Ceremony. Please refer to the section “Collection of Certificates” in this website for details.

You may collect your graduation certificate at the Registry Office during the opening hours from October 2023 to 1 December 2023 and from 7 December 2023 onwards. Please refer to the section “Collection of Certificates” in this website for details.

You may authorise a representative to collect your graduation certificate on your behalf. Please refer to the section “Collection of Certificates” for details.
